Cathy and singer-songwriter Michael Grady front the Akron-based band The Steelheaders. Billed as Americana Blues in genre, their sound is incredibly unique, blending tight vocal harmonies with hot solos and a driving sound. They perform primarily original music written by Michael Grady, but incorporate interesting versions of cover tunes as well. You’ll also hear a totally different take on many of Cathy’s original songs and fiddle tunes.
This 5-piece consists of Cathy on fiddle, vocals and guitar, Michael on vocals, guitar and a number of other instruments, Tim Quine on harmonica and guitar, Barb Withee on Upright Bass and Ed Wheeler on drums and percussion. More information can be found on The Steelheaders website, along with their performance calendar.
You can catch them perform every Thursday night at Tasty Jones’ at 1714 Merriman Road in Akron from 9pm- 12am.
Cathy and Michael also perform as a duo under the name Grady Miller. You can find their performance schedule on The Steelheaders website, or on Cathy’s calendar.
