Audio with Jim Gill
All songs are original works written by Jim Gill or myself, or are arrangements of traditional tunes. These recordings are live performances, without any pitch adjustment or overdubbing.

Run Lisa Run
This is a newer rendition of one of Jim’s songs that we have been working on recently. As always with Jim’s work, pay close attention to the lyrics. There’s rarely an unimportant word.
Fade To Black
I have a hard time choosing favorites when it comes to Jim’s songs, but this one is incredible…..
Any Exit
‘Cause when you don’t care where you’re going, any exit will take you there.
The Glasgow Reel
This is more representative of how Jim and I perform The Glasgow Reel in concert — Ramp it up, baby!
This version of The Glasgow Reel was recorded at a show at Paper Moon Vineyards in Vermillion. I am playing a Tucker Barrett solid body 5-string electric with (among other things) a Boss RV-3 effects pedal.
Catalyst
I wrote this for and about my duo partner, Jim Gill. This is performed using a DigiTech JML2 JamMan Stereo Looper and Phrase Sampler to create the multiple layers of sound. All samples used are recorded and overdubbed live, as I play it — nothing is pre-recorded.
Dunmore Lasses
As with Catalyst, Dunmore Lasses uses the JamMan looper to layer the fiddle. These are all audio snapshots, cut in a single take. Again, nothing is pre-recorded.
Ceilidh Tunes
These tunes were recorded live at a ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”) at the East Side Irish American Club in Cleveland. Ceilidhs are large group Irish dances that are very intricate and a lot of fun. You’ll hear the caller announcing the next step while the group plays, and the dancers having a great time. These recordings are raw audio and were made without the benefit of a mixer, just a Zoom H4 in the middle of the dance hall. The other fine players are Dan Fishwick on guitar and Katie Cooper on accordion.
